2-Step Challenge
Two evaluation stages. Funded trading and a Scaling Plan up to $500,000.
Which rules apply to my account?
Use the terms for your purchased program and account stage. Add-ons and older account versions may differ. Compare your dashboard with your accepted agreement; if they disagree, ask support before relying on a general example.

Evaluation & loss limits
2-Step General Trading Rules
The 2-Step Challenge has two evaluation phases: 8% profit in Step 1 and 5% in Step 2. Each phase also requires 3 profitable days, with at least 0.5% of the phase’s initial balance earned on each qualifying day. Reaching the profit target alone is not enough.
In both phases and on the funded account, the daily loss limit is 5% of the previous end-of-day closed balance, resetting at 5 PM ET (America/New_York). Maximum drawdown is a separate, static 10% of the starting balance. First funded payout eligibility begins 14 days after the first funded trade.
| Rule Area | Step 1 | Step 2 | Funded | Notes |
| Equity Growth Target | 8% | 5% | – | No evaluation target on funded; 10% is the target for scaling to a larger account |
| Daily Loss Limit | 5% | 5% | 5% | Previous end-of-day closed balance sets the floor; current equity tests the breach |
| Max Drawdown | 10% | 10% | 10% | Static floor: 90% of starting balance; does not trail |
| Inactivity Period | 30 Days | 30 Days | 30 Days | Must place trade (Hard Breach) |
| Leverage | 1:100 | 1:100 | 1:100 | |
| Minimum Profitable Days | 3 | 3 | – | At least 3 profitable days per phase, each ≥0.5% of the initial balance; 3 qualifying days for scaling. |
| Stoploss Required | No | No | No | Not required |
| Profit Share | – | – | 80%–100% | Start at 80%; rise to 85%, 90% and 100% at the Scaling Plan levels. Paid profit-split add-ons are a separate option. |
| Max Time | – | – | – | No Max Time requirements |
The 15% consistency rule applies on the funded stage, not during evaluation. Funded scaling requires a 10% target and 3 qualifying profitable days. The scaling target is not a requirement for every ordinary payout.
See how profitable days are counted. Purchased add-ons can change specific conditions; use the terms attached to your account.
Link to this answer ↗What counts as a profitable day in the 2-Step Challenge?
A qualifying profitable day earns at least 0.5% of the account’s initial balance. You need 3 such days in Step 1 and another 3 in Step 2. The funded Scaling Plan also requires 3 qualifying profitable days.
Qualifying daily result = lower of end-of-day balance or equity − previous day’s balance. Compare that result with initial balance × 0.005. The initial balance sets the threshold; a higher balance after profitable trading does not increase that threshold on the same account.
This minimum is different from the funded 15% consistency rule. An applicable purchased minimum-days-removal add-on can change the requirement for your account.
How do you calculate the 10% Maximum Drawdown?
The maximum drawdown is 10% static from the starting balance. Floor = starting balance × 0.90. It does not trail profits upward.
Link to this answer ↗How is the 5% daily loss floor calculated?
For the MFC 2-Step Challenge, the daily loss limit is 5% of the previous end-of-day closed balance. It resets at 5 PM ET (America/New_York), including the New York daylight-saving adjustment.
Daily floor = previous end-of-day closed balance × 0.95. Current equity must stay above this floor. Reaching it or falling below it is a hard breach, including when an open position causes the loss.
Open profit does not increase the closed-balance reference. Open losses, commissions and swaps affect current equity. The separate 10% static maximum drawdown still applies.
Link to this answer ↗Do open profits and losses count?
Yes. Open losses count immediately because loss-limit checks use current equity, not just closed balance. An account can breach while a losing position is still open.
For 2-Step, the daily reference is the previous end-of-day closed balance, and the maximum-loss reference is the starting balance. Unrealised profit does not move either reference upward.
Open losses also matter when counting profitable days: the calculation uses the lower of end-of-day balance and equity.

What happens after I pass the evaluation?
Pass Step 1 at 8%, then Step 2 at 5%, with at least 3 qualifying profitable days in each phase and no rule breach. Complete the account review, verification and agreement steps shown in your dashboard before funded access is issued.
The funded account is where payout eligibility and the Scaling Plan begin. Your initial standard profit share is 80%; the first payout request becomes eligible 14 days after your first funded trade. The 5% daily and 10% maximum loss limits continue to apply, and the funded 15% consistency rule now applies.
You do not repeat the two evaluation phases to scale. On the funded stage, meet the 10% scaling target and 3 qualifying profitable days to progress along the account-size ladder. Ordinary payouts do not require reaching that scaling target.
Link to this answer ↗Does the 15% consistency rule apply during evaluation?
No. The 15% consistency rule applies to the funded 2-Step account, not to Step 1 or Step 2. During evaluation, you still need the 8% or 5% phase target and 3 profitable days of at least 0.5% each.
On the funded stage, your best trading day must not represent more than 15% of your total accumulated profit. This is separate from the 0.5% profitable-day minimum and the 10% scaling target.
See the consistency calculation and other funded rules.
Link to this answer ↗When can I request a funded payout?
Your first 2-Step funded payout request becomes eligible 14 days after your first trade on that funded account. The clock does not start when you buy the challenge, pass evaluation or receive the account credentials.
Later requests follow the 14-day cycle unless your purchased payout add-on changes it. When a new scaled account is issued, the payout cycle resets; check its next eligible date in your dashboard.
You need eligible funded profit, completed verification and compliance with the funded rules, including 15% consistency and your payout conditions. Evaluation profit is not withdrawable funded profit. You do not need to reach the 10% scaling target for an ordinary payout.

Link to this answer ↗How does the 2-Step Scaling Plan increase my account?
Scaling increases your funded account size after evaluation; it is not a third evaluation phase. The 2-Step Challenge was previously called Scale Up Challenge. Its evaluation targets remain 8% and 5%.
- On your current funded size, reach the 10% scaling target.
- Complete at least 3 profitable days of 0.5% or more of that account’s initial balance. Continue to meet the funded loss limits, 15% consistency rule and payout conditions.
- Request your eligible payout and progress to the next size shown in the MFC Scaling Plan. The ladder goes up to $500,000.
Account size follows the published ladder; it does not automatically double. The profit-share percentage follows its own milestones.
Link to this answer ↗How does my profit split increase as I scale?
Your standard 2-Step funded profit share starts at 80% and increases at specific account-size milestones. Increasing account size does not increase the percentage at every step.
- Through $150,000: 80% trader / 20% MFC.
- $175,000 and $200,000: 85% / 15%.
- $250,000 and $300,000: 90% / 10%.
- $350,000–$500,000: 100% trader share.
The published high-tier plan also includes a $4,000 monthly fixed payout at $350,000, $400,000 and $450,000, and $10,000 monthly at $500,000, in addition to your profit share. These are monthly amounts, not a bonus on every withdrawal or a benefit on smaller accounts.
A purchased profit-split add-on is separate from the scaling milestones. See the MFC Scaling Plan table.
Link to this answer ↗Do I have to scale before requesting a payout?
No. You can request an eligible ordinary payout before reaching the 10% scaling target. The target determines when your funded account can increase in size; it does not set the minimum profit for every withdrawal.
Scaling and withdrawals are separate steps. When a new scaled account is issued, the 14-day payout cycle resets. The funded risk rules and payout conditions remain in force on the new account.
See payout timing and the scaling example.

Can I use EAs, copy trading, news or weekend add-ons?
EAs, automated strategies, copy traders and trade copiers are allowed when you own or are authorised to use the tool and retain exclusive control of every MFC account involved. You remain responsible for every order and all program rules.
Account sharing, third-party account management, platform or pricing exploitation, latency/feed arbitrage and coordinated trading intended to bypass limits remain prohibited. A copier does not make a prohibited strategy acceptable. Ask support for written confirmation before using an unclear setup.
Check your program and purchased add-ons before placing a trade near news or holding over a weekend. Do not assume permission on one account applies to another. Instant Funding prohibits opening a position within 3 minutes before or after a major news event without its News Trading add-on, and weekend holding requires its Weekend Holding add-on.
Other programs have their own applicable terms. Check the event, affected instrument and time zone; ask support to clarify uncertain cases before trading. An add-on does not remove other risk or prohibited-strategy rules. Do not assume an add-on can be purchased later or applied retroactively.
Link to this answer ↗How should I handle an account-rule discrepancy?
These explanations cover the current program. Your purchased program, stage, account version and selected add-ons matter. Before trading, compare the rules in your dashboard with your accepted agreement. If a value differs, ask support to reconcile it before relying on a general example.
Send support the program, stage, masked account reference and conflicting values. A general FAQ example must not be used to guess an unconfirmed live threshold.
