Lesson 6 of 10 · Essential
How long does it take to pass a challenge at a steady pace?
By MFC Research · rules current as of 3 Oct 2026
Divide the target by a realistic daily average. At 0.5% a day, a 10% target takes about 20 trading days; MFC evaluations have no time limit, so there is no reason to rush.
Daily average beats speed
| Average per day | 8% (2-Step, phase 1) | 10% (1-Step) |
|---|---|---|
| 0.25% | 32 days | 40 days |
| 0.5% | 16 days | 20 days |
| 1% | 8 days | 10 days |
Simple sums on the starting balance. The 0.5% row leaves the most room under a 5% daily limit.
The calendar rules
The 1-Step needs at least 3 trading days. Each 2-Step phase needs 3 profitable days of at least 0.5% of the phase’s starting balance, on top of the target. One big day does not satisfy either rule.
The last week
Most challenges are lost close to the target: size goes up to finish and the daily limit breaks first. Stop for the day once you reach your daily average, and keep the same size when the target is near.
Getting ready for funded rules
Once funded, no day may exceed 15% of total profit. Practising an even pace during the evaluation makes that rule easy to meet later.
