One target: 10% profit, at least 3 trading days, no time limit.
Daily floor: 5% below yesterday’s closed balance, checked on equity.
Max-loss floor: 10%, trailing your best closed balance until it locks at the start.
The rules at a glance
The 1-Step Challenge is one evaluation phase. Reach the target, trade the minimum number of days, break no rule, and the account goes to review. Here is every number on a $10,000 account.
| Rule | Value | On $10,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Profit target | 10% | +$1,000 |
| Daily loss | 5% of yesterday’s closed balance | First floor $9,500 |
| Max loss | 10%, trailing | First floor $9,000 |
| Minimum trading days | 3 | – |
| Time limit | None | – |
| Forex leverage | 1:50 | – |
Both loss floors apply at the same time. Whichever is higher at any moment is the one that can end the account first.
How the daily floor works
Daily floor = yesterday’s closed balance × (1 − 5%). On the first day of a $10,000 account it is $9,500, so the day may lose $500. If you close a day at $10,400, the next floor is $9,880.
The reference is closed balance, but the breach test is equity: open losses, commissions and swaps all count. A trade that sits at the floor breaches the account even if it would have recovered. Open profit, on the other hand, does not raise the reference until you close it.
The day resets at 17:00 New York time. A position held through the reset carries its open loss into the new day.
How the max-loss floor works
The max-loss floor starts 10% below your starting balance: $9,000 on $10,000. It then follows your highest closed balance up, dollar for dollar. Close a trade for +$400 and the floor rises by $400.
It stops rising once your closed profit reaches +10%. On $10,000 that means a best closed balance of $11,000; from then on the floor stays at $10,000. The trailing lesson in this course walks through it step by step.
News, weekends and trading style
- News: you cannot open new FX or metal positions from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after high-impact news. Closing is always allowed. The Allow News Trading add-on lifts this rule.
- Weekends: holding positions over the weekend needs the Weekend Holding add-on.
- Activity: place at least one trade every 30 days, or the account becomes inactive.
- Style: expert advisors only by agreement, so write to support first; copy trading is allowed, between your own accounts and from other traders or signal services, as long as the trades follow the trading rules: no martingale, no opposite trades across accounts or firms, no all-in bets. Scalping, high-frequency trading and hedging are not.
- Stop loss: not required by the rules, but it is the simplest way to keep one trade from reaching the daily floor.
What passing looks like
Hitting the target on screen is not the finish line by itself. The account also needs the minimum trading days and no breach. Then it is reviewed, you complete identity verification and the trader agreement in the MyFundedCapital Dashboard, and the funded account is issued.
On the funded account there is no profit target. The same loss floors stay in place, and a 35% consistency rule starts to apply: no single day may make up more than 35% of your total profit. It does not apply during the evaluation.
Before your first trade, write four numbers on a note next to your screen: your starting balance, the first daily floor, the first max-loss floor and the lock level. On $10,000 that is $10,000, $9,500, $9,000 and $11,000. Every later decision in this course starts from those four lines.

1. What are the 1-Step Challenge rules?
- One target: 10% profit, at least 3 trading days, no time limit.
- Daily floor: 5% below yesterday’s closed balance, checked on equity.
- Max-loss floor: 10%, trailing your best closed balance until it locks at the start.
2. How do you pass the 1-Step Challenge?
- At an average 0.5% a day, the 10% target takes about 20 trading days.
- At 0.5% risk per trade, it takes 20 losses in a row to cover the max-loss room.
- No time limit: a slower pace costs you days, not the account.
3. How does the 1-Step trailing drawdown work?
- The floor follows your highest closed balance, never your open profit.
- It rises dollar for dollar with each new best close and does not move back down.
- On $10,000 it locks at $10,000 once your best closed balance reaches $11,000.
4. How do 1-Step funded payouts and the fee refund work?
- First request 7 days after your first funded trade, then every 7 days.
- Each request: at least $50, at most $5,000.
- The fee, add-ons included, comes back once with your first approved payout, on top of it.

Questions
Is there a time limit on the 1-Step Challenge?
No. You can take as many trading days as you need, as long as you place a trade at least every 30 days and stay above both floors.
Is a stop loss required?
No, the rules do not require one. A stop on every order is still the simplest way to make sure a single trade cannot reach your daily floor.
