How each limit is measured
| Program | Daily loss | Maximum drawdown | Target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instant Funded | 3% of the previous end-of-day closed balance | 6%, static from starting balance; tightens to 5% after +5% profit | None |
| 1-Step Challenge | 5% of the previous end-of-day closed balance | 10%, trailing on highest closed balance; locks at starting balance after +10% closed profit | 10% |
| 2-Step Challenge | 5% of the previous end-of-day closed balance | 10%, static from starting balance | 8% + 5% |
| Prediction Markets | 3% of the previous end-of-day equity | 6%, trailing equity high-water mark, no lock | 10% |
The daily floor is the balance at the last reset minus the daily percentage. The maximum drawdown floor depends on the model. A static floor stays at the starting balance minus the percentage. A trailing floor follows your highest balance up by the same dollar amount, and on the 1-Step it stops rising once it reaches the starting balance.
Whichever floor is higher is the one your equity reaches first. Open trades count: a floating loss can break a limit before you close anything.
Questions
Does a floating loss count against the limits?
Yes. The limits are checked against equity, which includes open trades. Closing a trade does not help if equity has already touched the floor.
When does the daily limit reset?
At 17:00 New York time. From then on the new daily floor is based on your balance at that moment.
What does a trailing drawdown mean?
The floor moves up when your highest closed balance moves up, always staying the same dollar distance below it. On the 1-Step Challenge it is 10% of the starting balance and it locks at the starting balance after +10% closed profit. On Prediction Markets it trails your highest equity and does not lock.
Why does Instant Funded have a smaller maximum drawdown later?
Instant Funded starts at 6% and tightens to 5% after +5% profit. The calculator applies this when your highest closed balance reaches that level.
